The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Command to strengthening inter-agency collaboration and operational synergy through strategic familiarisation visits to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Ogun State Command.
TheCaveat.com.ng gathered that the visits, conducted during the week, formed part of deliberate efforts aimed at enhancing cooperation among security and public safety agencies towards improved security management, public safety, and effective criminal justice administration across Ogun State.
According to the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Commissioner of Police emphasized that modern security management requires sustained collaboration, intelligence sharing, mutual support, and coordinated engagements among critical stakeholders within the nation’s internal security architecture.
At the Federal Road Safety Corps headquarters in Ogun State, CP Ojajuni was received by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, RS2.2, alongside senior officers of the Corps. Discussions during the visit centred on strengthening collaboration in traffic control, highway patrol operations, accident prevention strategies, emergency response coordination, and public safety advocacy across the state.
The Commissioner of Police commended the FRSC for its professionalism, dedication, and consistent efforts in promoting road safety and reducing traffic crashes in Ogun State.
CP Ojajuni particularly applauded the FRSC Special Marshal Initiative, describing it as a commendable community-based partnership model comparable to the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). He noted that the initiative has significantly enhanced civic responsibility, public participation, and community involvement in promoting safety, discipline, and orderliness in society.
Similarly, at the Nigerian Correctional Service, Ogun State Command, the Controller of Corrections, Abioye Kamoru Adesina, received the Commissioner of Police and his delegation. Deliberations during the visit focused on strengthening collaboration within the criminal justice system, custodial security, inmate management, and post-incarceration rehabilitation processes.
CP Ojajuni commended the ongoing reforms within the Nigerian Correctional Service, especially in the areas of inmate education, vocational training, behavioural reformation, personal development programmes, and rehabilitation initiatives designed to transform inmates into responsible and productive citizens upon reintegration into society.
He described the correctional reforms as progressive and impactful, stressing that rehabilitation and reformation remain essential components of sustainable public safety and long-term societal stability.
As part of efforts to further strengthen institutional relationships and strategic communication, the Commissioner of Police presented copies of The New Dawn, the flagship newspaper of the Nigeria Police Force, to the leadership of both agencies.
CP Ojajuni expressed appreciation to the management and personnel of the FRSC and the Nigerian Correctional Service for their professionalism, dedication, and continued contributions to public safety, institutional development, and national security objectives.
He reiterated that effective policing and sustainable security management can only be achieved through strong inter-agency cooperation, intelligence sharing, coordinated operational strategies, and mutual institutional support.
The Commissioner of Police further reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Ogun State Police Command under his leadership to sustaining productive partnerships and promoting collective efforts geared towards ensuring peace, protection of lives and property, and improved security stability across Ogun State.
