In continuation of his educational support initiatives, Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) has sponsored and successfully registered 4,000 indigent students for the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
According to a press release signed by High Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to Senator Yayi, made available to TheCaveat.com.ng, the initiative, tagged “Sen. Yayi Free JAMB 2026,” concluded today with all 4,000 beneficiaries fully enrolled and their Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) provided.
Speaking on the success of the programme, Senator Adeola described the gesture as part of his sustained commitment to educational empowerment, particularly for brilliant but financially disadvantaged students. He noted that the intervention is preparatory to his scholarship and bursary schemes for students in tertiary institutions.
“As far as I can help it, none of our children will miss educational opportunities due to the economic challenges facing their parents or guardians,” the senator stated.
A breakdown of the beneficiaries shows that 2,183 candidates are from Ogun West, 1,358 from Ogun Central, and 418 from Ogun East Senatorial District.
The senator also disclosed that candidates who are yet to receive their PINs due to errors in their registration details, underage status as flagged by JAMB, or other issues are being assisted to resolve the challenges to enable them complete their registration.
The Free JAMB initiative, which has been running for several years, continues to receive commendations from beneficiaries and their families.
One of the parents, Alhaji Suara Adeyemi from Ipokia Local Government, whose daughter benefitted from the scheme, described the intervention as a major financial relief, especially at a time when he is burdened with multiple school fees for other children seeking higher education.
Similarly, a beneficiary, Mr. Henry Olaitan from Odeda Local Government Area, expressed gratitude on the senator’s social media platform, noting that he would have missed the examination as his guardian could not afford the registration fees for him and two other children.
