Normalcy has returned to Sagamu and its environs following decisive action by the Ogun State Police Command, which has arraigned 29 out of the 146 suspects arrested during the “Operation Keep Sagamu Safe” crackdown.
According to Thecaveat.com.ng, police sources revealed that the suspects, who were found culpable after a thorough screening process, were formally charged to court on April 15, 2026. The court subsequently ordered their remand in correctional custody, with the case adjourned until May 12, 2026.
The development marks a significant step in restoring peace and order in Sagamu, which had recently experienced security disturbances linked to criminal elements.
Reacting, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, said the prosecution of the suspects reflects the command’s commitment to transparency, professionalism, and due process.
Ojajuni assured residents that calm has been fully restored in Sagamu and surrounding communities, while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
The police command reiterated its resolve to sustain ongoing operations aimed at ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.
